With a blistered sugar maple back, sides, and neck; an X-braced Adirondack spruce top; and all hot-hide-glue construction, this mandolin is truly a banjo killer. It's loud on loud, with balance and tone to spare.

Construction Photos

I was lazy on this one, and took almost no construction photos (because then I'd have to take the time to put them on the website). Here's a view of my laptop screen while I'm tap-tuning the bracing. This advanced software gives me a visual picture of the fundamental and all harmonics, as well as the sustain and any interfering notes. I love the traditional, but embrace modern technology when it helps me build a better instrument.
